U Of M Regents Finish Retreat In Owatonna

OWATONNA, Minn. (AP) ― The University of Minnesota regents are set to wrap up their two-day retreat in southern Minnesota.

The retreat started Thursday at the Gainey Conference Center in Owatonna and is set to finish Friday.

University President Robert Bruininks says the discussions will cover what directions the university should go in the future, and how the university should manage shrinking budgets.

Board chairman Clyde Allen says it's unlikely the board will leave with the meeting with firm plans.

The regents aren't scheduled to meet again until September.
