Ramstad Backs McCain, Calling Him 'Experienced'

ST. PAUL (AP) ― U.S. Rep. Jim Ramstad is endorsing Sen. John McCain for president.

The popular moderate Republican from Minnesota said in a prepared statement that McCain is "clearly the most tested, experienced and capable candidate" and the most qualified to lead the war against terrorism.

He also said McCain has a record of working with Democrats in Congress.

Ramstad said he decided to back McCain even though they don't agree on every issue.

Ramstad represents Minnesota's suburban 3rd Congressional District. He's not running for re-election.
