Police arrested a 35-year-old Princeton, Minn. man Wednesday for allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend.
Troy Bourgeois is being held on suspicion of first-degree burglary, kidnapping and felony domestic assault. He has not yet been formally charged.
Sherburne County Sheriff Joel Brott said Bourgeois' ex-girlfriend said that Bourgeois had assaulted her over the past several days.
Brott said Bourgeois refused to let his ex-girlfriend leave his house on Monday by restraining her and taking her car keys. The woman was able to get away. Later that afternoon, Brott said Bourgeois broke into his ex-girlfriend's home, in Santiago Township, and again assaulted her.
Bourgeois was arrested Wednesday outside his home. He is currently in the Sherburne County Jail, awaiting arraignment.
