Reward Offered In SE Minn. Puppy Abuse

AUSTIN, Minn. (AP) ― There's now a reward for information about whoever abused a pit bull puppy in southeastern Minnesota.

The Humane Society of the United States is offering the $2,500 reward for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of whoever was responsible.

When the Mower County Humane Society picked up the 6-month-old pit bull north of Waltham, volunteers noticed scabs where someone tried to crop the dog's ears.

The botched job left the puppy with little more than a hole on the right side of his head.

The dog is now named Lionel. Anyone with information should contact the Mower County sheriff's office or the Mower County Humane Society.
