Pawlenty Announces Governor's Deer Opener

ST. PAUL (AP) ― Governor Tim Pawlenty says the 6th Annual Governor's Deer Hunting Opener will be in east-central Minnesota on Nov. 8.
  
He says on Friday that there will be events in Cambridge, Isanti and North Branch.
  
The previous five governor's deer openers have raised thousands of dollars for conservation projects in Minnesota. Pawlenty also uses the event to highlight different parts of the state.
  
In the past five years, the event has been in the Brainerd Lakes area, the Grand Rapids area, the Perham area, the Rochester area, and the Hibbing area.
