Seniors' Apartment Building Hit By Fire

MONTGOMERY, Minn. (AP) ― Authorities say a fire Saturday at a senior living facility in Montgomery forced the evacuation of 43 residents.

Le Sueur County officials say everyone was evacuated from the Park Manor apartment building.

Firefighters from three departments helped to battle the fire. Witnesses reported seeing flames shooting from the building and thick smoke late Saturday afternoon.

The residents were taken to Montgomery City Hall and were being assisted by the Red Cross.

There was no immediate word on the fire's cause.
