Ham Lake Man Killed In North Metro Crash Identified

OAK GROVE, Minn. (AP) ―

The 30-year-old Ham Lake man who died in a crash in the northern Twin Cities area has been identified.

Authorities say Jeffery J. Hettwer was one of four people in a car that crashed into a parked car early Saturday in Oak Grove.

The driver of the car ran away after the crash but was arrested two hours later. Anoka County authorities say prosecutors will examine the case for possible charges against the driver.

Authorities have said they think alcohol probably played a role in the crash.

Hettwer was an artist who painted abstract works at his studio in northeast Minneapolis.

The two other passengers in the car were injured.
