MPCA Warns About Twin Cities Air Quality

ST. PAUL (AP) ― The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency is concerned about the air quality in the Twin Cities and Rochester and asks residents to park their vehicles.

The agency issued an air-pollution health advisory on Monday that remains in effect Tuesday. Conditions should improve on Wednesday when clear air flows in from the north.

The Star Tribune reports that monitors across much of the Upper Midwest indicate elevated levels of fine-particle pollution that put air quality in the high moderate range.

It's just below what's considered to be unhealthy for people with certain health conditions, so the MPCA wants people to find other ways to get around.

The agency says conditions should improve Wednesday as clean air from the north flows into the region.
