Police: 2 Injured Motorcyclists Were Husband, Wife

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) ― Two people were seriously injured after their motorcycles crashed in downtown Minneapolis late Tuesday evening.

On Wednesday afternoon, police said the two were husband and wife.

The crash happened at the intersection of 12th Street South and LaSalle Avenue at about 10 p.m.

Police said one motorcycle was traveling in front of the other, and that it appears one of the motorcycles stopped and the other had a mechanical failure and couldn't stop.

The two victims were both taken to Hennepin County Medical Center. Authorities said both were listed in serious condition.

The scene was blocked off temporarily while police investigated.

Neither of the victims' names have been released.
