MnDOT Examines Railroad Bridge Over I-35W

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (AP) ― The Minnesota Department of Transportation has crews out in Bloomington looking at a damaged railroad bridge that crosses over Interstate 35W.

MnDOT spokeswoman Mary McFarland says something hit the railroad bridge on Tuesday, forcing officials to close the right lane on a portion of northbound I-35W. She says materials were hanging down from the bridge, causing a hazard.

The bridge is located just north of 98th Street, and the ramp onto northbound I-35W from 98th Street is also closed while crews evaluate the damage.

McFarland says northbound traffic is backed up to 106th Street.
