Deadlines Nearing For Minn. Fair Competition

Better get ready if you're planning to enter your prized sheep or pickles in this year's Minnesota State Fair.
Deadlines are approaching for art, education and agricultural entries for the 2009 fair.
Among the deadlines are July 20 for fine arts, July 27 for horses and Aug. 5 for pigeons, poultry and rabbits.
Baked and canned goods must be pre-registered by Aug. 11. The deadline for crop art and scarecrows is Aug. 14.
Ribbons, trophies and more than $900,000 in cash will be awarded to winning exhibitors.
The 2009 Minnesota State Fair runs from Aug. 27 through Labor Day, Sept. 7.
