The Minnesota History Center is offering a peek at a bygone time without requiring visitors to commit much time.
A series of four, 30-minute plays provide a lookback at life in the state in the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s. This summer's rotating short plays are part of the center's "Minnesota's Greatest Generation Project."
History buffs can take in "Swell!," a tour through popular culture and daily life during the Great Depression. Or they can see how television changed the daily routine in the 1950s-styled play, "The Secret Storm."
Two others in the rotation are "The Amazing Adventures of Stuart Lindman" and "Parachute Silk."
The plays run four times a day Tuesdays through Fridays.
