1 Charged In Connection To Mpls. Serial Robberies

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) ― Minneapolis Police say a man has been charged in connection to the serial robberies of small businesses where women were working at the time.

Police say they arrested 46-year-old Dwayne Murray Wednesday in Brooklyn Center and that prosecutors charged him with the Oct. 19 robbery at the Candy Jar on the 3800 block of Cedar Avenue South Friday.

Investigators believe he was also involved with a Sept. 25 robbery at Ebu Design Jewelry on the 1500 block of 46th Street East and an Oct. 17 robbery at Lake Harriet Florist on the 5000 block of Penn Avenue South. He has not been charged with those crimes, however.

Last week, police said they believe a team of at least two men is behind the robberies. That information came after a victim didn't recognize a sketch drawing of a suspect from another robbery. Thirteen businesses matching the profile were robbed in recent weeks.
