'U' Creates Masters Program In Security Tech
ST. PAUL (AP) ―
The University of Minnesota has created a new master's program in security technology that's intended to give students a broad view of the subject.
The 14-month program begins classes next summer. It's the brainchild of Massoud Amin, director of the university's Technological Leadership Institute.
He says security officials need to have a 360-degree view of the security situation in American, not just looking at "dogs, guns, cameras and guards."
Amin says the program is trying to leverage the expertise the university has in particular areas like food safety, infectious disease and information technology.
Classes will be taught by faculty from the Carlson School of Management, the university's National Center for Food Science and other schools and departments at the university.
