High-Speed Chase, Suspect Fires At Squad Car

(WCCO) An attempted traffic stop in the St. Paul area turned into a much more dangerous situation when a van tried to speed away, shooting at the officer.

According to police, the suspect was driving a blue conversion van in North St. Paul when an officer tried to pull him over.

The van sped away, and the officer gave pursuit. The suspect fired several shots at the squad car through his back window.

The officer was not injured, but was not able to continue in the chase due to the shots fired. The chase ended in Maplewood near Frost Avenue and Kennard Street.

The suspect remains at large.
