Man Charged For Throwing Kitten Against Wall

ST. PAUL (WCCO) ― A St. Paul man is in jail for allegedly killing his neighbor's kitten. Scott Turner, 29, has been charged with a felony count of cruelty to an animal.

Police say they received a call Monday night about a domestic disturbance at an apartment Suburban Avenue in St. Paul.

According to police, Turner had been arguing with his girlfriend when things got out of hand. They say the girlfriend was watching the neighbor's cat and Turner told her to get rid of it.

Police said when she didn't get rid of the cat, that's when Turner slammed the kitten against the wall.

Police say they had to use pepper spray to get Turner under control when they found him at his mother's house.

Lisa Lewis was the cat's owner and she said she's going to miss Nilla.

"She was bleeding out of her nose and mouth and she wasn't going so good. And the police came. I had to take her to the vet on University and they said for her to even make it through the night it would have been grave to poor," said Lewis.

The cat had to be euthanized and Lewis said she's thinking about getting another kitten.
