Man Suspected Of Burglarizing Liquor Store 3 Times

INVER GROVE HEIGHTS, Minn. (WCCO) ― Prosecutors have charged an Inver Grove Heights man with burglarizing a liquor store, according to the Dakota County Judicial Center. Police suspect him of stealing from the store on three separate occasions.

Police say they received a tip early in the morning of March 6 from a person who noticed a broken window at Market Liquor on Blaine Avenue in Inver Grove Heights.

Officers responded just after 3 a.m. to find nobody inside, but a review of surveillance video showed a man wearing a winter hat and hood breaking the window and stealing two bottles of vodka before leaving. They say a similar burglary had happened five days earlier.

On March 13, police arrested 48-year-old Gregory Todd Hunter of Inver Grove Heights near the same liquor store shortly after an alarm went off. They say it was a similar burglary to the two before it and that two more bottles of vodka were found in Hunter's jacket. They also say his hands were cut and that there was blood on the window where it was broken.

Investigators said Hunter admitted to the burglary on March 6 and March 13, but didn't remember the burglary on March 1.

Hunter has been charged with the burglary and the damage to the window from March 6. The repair and replacement cost of the damage was $674.
