If you're still shopping for holiday gifts, you are not alone. About 75 percent of holiday shoppers say they'll do some last-minute shopping, according to a survey by
pricegrabber.com. Another 32 percent say they'll do all their shopping late.
But it wasn't only procrastinators making last-minute purchases this Christmas Eve. Others are only waiting for the last-minute deals.
"It's kind of a tradition with my father and me, we kind of wait until the last minute. Works out well for the both of us," said Matt Intrieri.
For others, the deals were purely incidental.
"I didn't try to (wait). I've actually been shopping for two months, but then I keep seeing new things that I want," said Jennifer Foster.
Many viewers have commented to me that the sales leading up to Christmas seem to be really good. Stores have slashed prices offering savings of up to 70 percent.
Online retailers are also getting in on the act.
Dealnews showcases some of the best deals on the web. Barnes and Noble is already advertising an after holiday sale with savings of up to 90 percent on books, DVDs and toys.
Clothing was not the only thing people were shopping for. Many stores in the Brookdale Shopping Center were packed. Cub Foods, similarly crowded.
"Every year I'll tell myself that I'm not going to do any last-minute shopping, especially on Christmas Eve. Every year it turns out to be on Christmas Eve anyway, whether it's grocery shopping or Christmas shopping," said Brenda Knight.
