Several Minn. Colleges Have High Int'l Numbers

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) ― Five Minnesota colleges are listed in international student enrollment rankings released Monday.

The University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus ranks 23rd overall for the number of international students it enrolls. During the 2007-08 school year the university had more than 3,700 international students enrolled.

Among institutions offering undergraduate and master's degrees, St. Cloud State University ranked 12th with nearly 1,200 international students.

Macalester College was ranked 11th among colleges offering undergraduate degrees with about 1,900 international students. The College of Saint Benedict/Saint John's University and Carleton College also ranked in the top 40 of that list.

The rankings are released each year by the Institute of International Education.
