Minn. Officials To Explain Details Of Health Cuts

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) ― State budget cuts are coming to programs that help those with disabilities and medical conditions live independently.

Starting this week, officials from the Minnesota Department of Human Services are traveling around the state explaining the changes to those who work with the programs.

Half-day workshops start Tuesday in Minnetonka and continue through the month.

Stops include Willmar, Rochester, Bemidji, Thief River Falls, Fergus Falls and Marshall.

The department says the policy changes are major and will affect consumers, health care providers and administrators.

The workshops are for local officials, planners, nursing homes, tribal agencies and those who provide medical and support services to people in their homes or community-based settings.
