With the drawn-out Senate race behind him, Al Franken says he's looking forward to getting to work in Washington -- and one of his first priorities will be affordable health care.
Franken made the comments Wednesday in an interview with Minnesota Public Radio, a day after he was certified as the winner of the U.S. Senate race over Republican Norm Coleman.
Franken says he's inclined to support a public health care plan, but he's going to see what unfolds in Washington. He also spoke about his expectation to be on the Judiciary Committee, where he would play a role in the confirmation of Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor.
Franken says he wants to ask Sotomayor about campaign finance reform.

Democratic leader Harry Reid said Franken could be sworn in early next week, entering as the Senate's most junior member. Franken said he'll ask a deeply divided Minnesota to judge him by his actions.
"I won by 312 votes. So I really have to earn the trust of people who didn't vote for me," he said.
