Grass Fires Along 35W Back Up Traffic

CIRCLE PINES, Minn. (WCCO) ― A series of grass fires along Interstate 35W near Lexington Avenue backed up traffic Wednesday afternoon in Circle Pines, Minn.

Traffic cameras from the Minnesota Department of Transportation showed the freeway reduced to one lane in each direction while fire crews battled at least three flareups.

Traffic cameras showed all the fires to be extinguished just before 1 p.m.

There is no word on how the fires began.
