Masons Give $65M To UMinn For Cancer Research

The Masons have a long history of donating to cancer research at the university. The school says the newest gift brings the total over the past half-century to $100 million.

The University of Minnesota says it's getting its largest gift ever -- $65 million to the university's Cancer Center.
Minnesota Masonic Charities is making the pledge over 15 years. In recognition, the university says the cancer center will be renamed the Masonic Cancer Center.

Doctor Douglas Yee, the director of the research center, says the Masons' gift will significantly expand capabilities for research and treatment.
