It may be the next best thing to seeing Garrison Keillor's "A Prairie Home Companion" live.
A special performance of Keillor's radio variety show will be beamed live in high-definition to more than 500 movie theaters across the U.S. and Canada on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010.
The show will originate from St. Paul's Fitzgerald Theater. The audio will air during the show's regular Saturday evening time slot on Feb. 6, and the show will be rebroadcast to theaters on Tuesday, Feb. 9.
The cinecast will be identical to a regular "Prairie Home" broadcast. Keillor will deliver his News From Lake Wobegon, and The Guy's All-Star Shoe Band will be on hand. Musical guests will be announced later.
Tickets for the cinecast go on sale Dec. 11.
