Al Franken, Sonya Sotomayor Prep For Sen. Hearing

WASHINGTON (WCCO) ― Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor is spending the weekend on last-minute preparations for Monday's confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Several senators will make up the panel who'll be asking Sotomayor questions about her personal and professional life. One of the people asking the questions will be Minnesota's U.S. Senator Al Franken.

Saturday, Franken gathered lawyers to help prepare him for the Sotomayor hearings. He says senators have been known to get long-winded on their questions, and he only wants to ask questions a normal person would want to hear the answer to.

WCCO.COM will be streaming live video of the hearing Monday morning. Opening statements from senators will begin at 9 a.m.
