The Knicks camp at Lake Auburn every year, but they say things have changed along with the economic downturn.
"Much, much busier. Back when our kids were little, you could just on a Wednesday or Thursday say 'let's go' and you could go anyplace. Now you have to plan 6 months, 8 months ahead of time," said Charlotte Knick.

With the beach, fishing pier and plenty of bike trails nearby, the children big and small don't seem to have any problem finding something to enjoy. Fourteen-year-old Carisa Brown says she doesn't feel deprived at all.
"I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. I mean, holidays are supposed to be with your family," she said.
