A Florida man accused of running a large-scale prostitution ring in Minnesota was sentenced Tuesday to 28 months in prison for conspiracy to commit an offense against the U.S.
Thirty-three-year-old Oscar Rogelio Hisep-Roman, of Dover, Fla., also received three years of supervised release. He pleaded guilty last year.
According to plea agreements in federal court, he and 39-year-old Marisol Ramirez, of Richfield, admitted they brought women from other states and countries to work in brothels in Minnesota between 2006 and 2007.
Ramirez was sentenced last month to 30 months in prison and three years supervised release on counts of conspiracy, money laundering and illegal re-entry after deportation.
They were among 25 people indicted in May 2007.
