Woman Guilty Of Falsely Accusing Cops Of Rape

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) ― A woman charged with falsely accusing two Minneapolis Police officers of rape was found guilty Monday.

In July 2007, Trisha Farkarlun accused Officers Paul Gillies and MiQuel Barnes of raping her while on duty.

Police investigation said GPS data and squad car recordings proved Farkarlun was lying. Both officers also submitted DNA samples to the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and an independent laboratory commissioned by the defense attorney.

Farkarlun was charged by the Minneapolis City Attorney's Office for falsely reporting police misconduct.

Sentencing is expected Tuesday.
