Election Integrity The Topic At Conference

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) ― As the recount continues in Minnesota's unsettled U.S. Senate race, Secretary of State Mark Ritchie and others will participate in a conference that looks at the fairness and credibility of the state's election.

Ritchie will be joined at a Wednesday morning panel discussion by former Vice President Walter Mondale, U.S. Rep. Jim Ramstad, and Tom Swain -- one-time chief of staff to former Gov. Elmer Andersen, who went through a statewide recount in 1962.

Other national and regional election experts will also participate.

The conference is sponsored by the University of Minnesota Humphrey Institute's Center for the Study of Politics and Governance.
