Memorial Mass Today For St. Thomas Student

ST. PAUL (WCCO) ― Services are set for Dan Zamlen, the University of St. Thomas freshman whose body was recovered from the Mississippi River nearly a month after he disappeared.

A memorial Mass for Zamlen is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the Chapel of St. Thomas Aquinas on the school's St. Paul campus.

On Saturday, a funeral Mass for Zamlen will be held at noon at the Resurrection Catholic Church in his hometown of Eveleth.

Zamlen disappeared April 5 after leaving a house party in the pre-dawn hours. Police recovered his body last Friday in the river near the Ford dam.

More than 1,200 people from Northern Minnesota and the Twin Cities searched for Zamlen.
