Family Of Dead Minn. Student Grateful For Closure
ST. PAUL (WCCO) ―
Family and friends of Dan Zamlen say they're still grief-stricken after his body was recovered from the Mississippi River, but they're grateful to finally have closure.
Zamlen was a University of St. Thomas student who disappeared April 5 after leaving a house party in the pre-dawn hours. St. Paul police recovered his body Friday, and word spread quickly to his Iron Range hometown of Eveleth.
About 100 students and relatives gathered Friday evening at St. John Vianney Seminary. Rev. William Baer said so much heart went into the search that it was hard to have it end this way.
Family friend Lori Ismil says she consoles herself with prayer.
St. Paul police have not said whether there were signs of foul play.
-------
More than 1,200 people from Northern Minnesota and the Twin Cities searched for Zamlen.
