The St. Paul district of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has prepared an environmental assessment on a project to stop erosion that threatens a road along the Elk River.
The public has until July 31 to review and comment on the assessment of the proposal for shoring up the river along County Road 35 between Elk River and Big Lake.
The corps said the goal is to "protect the highway from impending failure" and redirect storm water runoff to ensure the long-term stability of the site.
