Former Sen. Norm Coleman says Gov. Tim Pawlenty would make a great president should he decide to run in the 2012 election.
Coleman offered the endorsement Wednesday while in Washington, D.C., for a gathering of the Republican Jewish Coalition. Coleman says he's a "strong supporter" of Pawlenty.
The former senator also praised Pawlenty in a recent article in the New York Jewish Week newspaper, saying Pawlenty is thoughtful and smart and understands the party has to "unite and reach out rather than divide."
Pawlenty has been speaking around the country and is considered a top Republican presidential prospect, although he has not announced his political intentions.
