Minn. Candidate In 1st Dist. Missed Tax Deadlines
ST. PAUL (AP) ―
GOP congressional candidate Brian Davis has missed 10 property tax deadlines and paid $1,400 in fines since 2003.
Olmsted County property tax records show the late payments, including one due May 15 that was paid on June 17.
Davis says the late payments were a "simple oversight" after he and his wife stopped using an automatic payment system, which they will start using again.
Democrats say the Mayo Clinic doctor isn't following the rules even though he loaned his campaign more than $160,000.
Davis is running against state Senator Dick Day in the Republican primary in Minnesota's 1st District. The incumbent is Democrat Tim Walz.
