Metro Transit said its drivers did the right thing after a bus stopped under a crossing arm as a train passed by.
It happened about a week ago at 54th and Minnehaha Avenue in Minneapolis. A motorist caught it with his camera and posted it online.
Metro Transit said it looks worse than it was.
"We have found regardless of how dramatic the video looks there certainly wasn't a near miss and there was no impending collision between the bus and the train," said Bob Gibbons, a Metro Transit spokesperson.
A bus driver headed west on 54th stopped at the intersection of Minnehaha Avenue and didn't see a train, so started up again. At that moment, the warning arm came down onto the bus.
At its closest point the bus was 49 feet from the train. Minnesota law requires a 15-foot clearance between a vehicle and a train.
Metro Transit says 150 buses pass through the intersection every day and have done so safely since the train hit the tracks four years ago.
Metro transit has put up a mirror at the intersection so buses and cars can see farther down the tracks.
