School Bus Collides With Fire Unit On Way To Call

The St. Louis Park assistant fire chief was responding to the call with lights and sirens on when it was hit by a school bus, according to a city spokesperson.

A school bus carrying a softball team collided with a fire unit at an intersection in St. Louis Park.
According to St. Louis Park officials, an assistant fire chief from St. Louis Park was responding to a call when his Ford Expedition was struck at the intersection of Louisiana Avenue and Minnetonka Blvd at about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The school bus was carrying a girls' softball team from Lindstrom, Minn. at the time of the crash. There were no injuries reported on the school bus.
A city spokesperson said the assistant fire chief was responding to the call with its lights and sirens on. He was transported to Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital and was released Tuesday night with minor injuries.
