Emilee Olson, 9, was a third grader at Lakeview School, and one of the four children who died when her school bus crashed Tuesday afternoon.
According to Emilee's aunt Terri Hutchinson, Emilee loved ponies and playing the piano.
"She would sing in church. She had a lot of friends, smile on her face," said Hutchinson. She remembers the little girl who was full of energy and had so much more life to live.
"I talked earlier with her dad. He wanted everyone to know how proud he was of her and all she has done," said Hutchinson. Emilee was adopted by her parents from China when she was a baby.
She said Emilee's two brothers were also on the bus when a van crashed into it Tuesday afternoon on Highway 23 and County Road 24 near Cottonwood, Minn.
"Older brother, Sidnee, could hear his younger brother crying. And he crawled over students to find him but he couldn't find his sister," said Hutchinson.
Riley, 6, was doing OK while Sidnee, who is 11 years old, is recovering in the hospital. Sidnee has already had a significant amount of surgery to remove glass from his head.
"And his cornea was damaged. He had a significant amount of surgery in the night to repair that. And he's got a broken hand, severely bruised but he'll be OK," said Hutchinson.
On Wednesday night, Sidnee's parents were able to take him home from the hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.
"There are a lot of families in this community that are really hurting. We just ask that everyone think about how many lives this has touched and how everyone can really use some prayers right now and hugs. Hug your kids," said Hutchinson.
