A driver involved in a crash that killed a 17-year-old Brooklyn Center boy is currently in satisfactory condition.
The Wright County Sheriff's office said Jon Kramnic was killed after his car collided with a pickup driver on County Road 35 near Jamison Avenue in St. Michael, Minn.
The driver of the pickup, 44-year-old Todd Lifto of St. Michael, was taken to Mercy Hospital by ambulance, where he was originally listed in critical condition. His condition was reported satisfactory on Monday.
Students at Buffalo Senior High School were in shock as they remembered their fellow student, a scholar and an athlete.
"At the high school they have the rock that the students usually go out and express their feelings and their emotions," said Laura Barta, district spokesperson.
School administrators spent most of the Sunday contacting teachers, staff and counselors to tell them what happened and to put a plan in place to help students cope with their loss.
The Wright County Sheriff's Department is still investigating the accident.
The St. Michael and Albertville fire departments assisted sheriff's deputies at the scene.
