A family in Brooklyn Park, Minn. survived a devastating house fire early Sunday morning.
The fire had already spread through much of the house by 3 a.m. at a home on the 7000 block of Shingle Creek Drive when firefighters arrived.
According to one fire official, anywhere from five to seven people lived in the home at the time of the fire.
Neighbors awakened by the blaze said they were relieved to see everyone get out safely, though two did suffer minor injuries.
One preteen boy had to jump from a window to escape in time, according to neighbors. He walked away with a scrape on his knee. Another woman suffered minor burns.
The home was completely gutted by the fire. Neighbor Tim Helseth said his heart goes out to the family. According to Helseth, the family was new in the house and has been renting for only a few months.
Investigators are trying to figure out what started the fire. It doesn't appear suspicious.
