3-Year-Old Boy Killed In House Fire Identified

LONG PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) ― A 3-year-old boy is dead after a house fire near Long Prairie.

Todd County sheriff's authorities say the fire was reported early Sunday east of Long Prairie.

The sheriff's office says Lucas James Ewertsen died inside the two-story farmhouse. An adult family member who had been in the home was treated for smoke inhalation.

Long Prairie Fire Chief Jim Kreemer says firefighters spent up to nine hours working to put out the fire.

The state fire marshal's office and the Todd County sheriff's office will investigate.
