Body Found In Truck Ruled A Homicide

LAKELAND SHORES, Minn. (WCCO) ― Washington County investigators say the body that was found inside a vehicle near Lakeland Shores has been ruled a homicide.

A Washington County sheriff's deputy was flagged down Tuesday by a citizen in the lower St. Croix Valley area who said there was a suspicious vehicle.

Police located the vehicle, a white 1997 Dodge Ram extended cab with a topper, in the 200 block of Quinnell. Inside, the deputy found a deceased Hispanic man in his mid-to-late 30s.

The man's name is being withheld until family can be notified.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office does not believe this to be a random act of violence. The sheriff's department has not received information identifying the victim as part of the lower St. Croix Valley community.

Anyone with information relevant to the investigation is asked to call the Washington County Sheriff's Office at (651) 439-9381. Callers can remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers of Minnesota at 1-800-222-8477. Information resulting in an arrest could be worth up to $1,000.
