Body Found In Burned Pickup Near Darwin Identified

DARWIN, Minn. (AP) ― Authorities have identified the man whose body was found in a burned pickup truck near Darwin last month.

The Meeker County Sheriff's office says 68-year-old Alvin Karl Stone of rural Darwin was identified through medical and dental records.

The burned pickup was found Nov. 23 in Ellsworth Township in central Minnesota.

Authorities say an investigation found that the vehicle fire started in the engine compartment and traveled through the openings in the firewall to the passenger compartment.

Meeker County authorities say the case is now closed.
