Prosecutors charged two men in connection with a murder in Blaine, Minn. earlier this week.
Zachary S. Heineck, 19, of Circle Pines, Minn., has been charged with second-degree intentional murder for the death of Ryan Felt. Nicoles R. Lindsey, 18, of Lexington, Minn., has been charged with aiding an offender after the fact.
According to the criminal complaint, Felt went to a residence on 91st Lane on Aug. 11 for a drug deal. A number of other people were there and a fight broke out between Felt and a 21-year-old man.
That's when, police say, Heineck pulled out a gun and shot Felt. Witnesses said the gun jammed, Heineck cleared the jam and then continued to shoot at Felt.
Lindsey told police he and Heineck were together after the shooting, before heading to his house where they were arrested. Lindsey told police the two were at his house so Heineck could hide the gun he had used earlier in the shooting.
An autopsy found that Felt was shot three times: once in the mid-back, once near the left armpit and once in the lower abdomen.
If convicted, Heineck faces up to 40 years in prison and Lindsey could face up to 20 years in prison.
