Bicyclist, 60, Struck By Car And Killed In Blaine

BLAINE, Minn. (WCCO) ― A 60-year-old bicyclist was struck by a car and killed in Blaine, Minn. Wednesday afternoon, according to authorities.

The accident happened at 131st Avenue and Jefferson Street Northeast just before 4 p.m.

Police said the bicyclist entered the southbound lane of Jefferson Street and was struck by the car, which was also traveling southbound on Jefferson.

The victim was taken to Mercy Hospital at Coon Rapids, where he was pronounced dead.

He has not been identified by authorities, other than to say that he lived in Blaine.

Police said the driver of the vehicle, a 32-year-old Ramsey woman, is cooperating with the investigation.
