2 Arrested For Attacking, Slapping Russian Dancers

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) ― Two men were arrested after a drunken attack on members of the Russian National Ballet Theatre troupe early Sunday, according to Minneapolis Police.

According to police, Nicholas Armijo, 27, of Loretto, Minn., and Eric Rossman, 28, of Plymouth, Minn., climbed into a limousine that wasn't theirs and were dropped off at the Doubletree Guest Suites at their request.

One of the two hit the limo driver on the head as he exited. The limo driver contacted police.

When officers arrived, they found that Armijo and Rossman had been involved in an assault on three members of the ballet troupe -- two men and one woman -- in the hotel lobby. Police said the two hit and slapped the dancers as well as a security guard. Police said racial slurs were uttered as well.

The two then allegedly assaulted a hotel employee in the elevator en route to their hotel room.

No one sustained serious injuries in the attacks, according to police.

The Russian National Ballet Theatre performed "Sleeping Beauty" at Northrop Auditorium in Minneapolis on Friday evening. They have already left town for their next engagement.
