Man Killed In Auger Accident Identified

EUREKA TOWNSHIP, Minn. (AP) ― Dakota County authorities have identified a man who was killed has he tried to fix a jammed auger.

Samuel Ray Young was working Saturday afternoon at County Stone and Soil in Eureka Township near Farmington in the southwest corner of Dakota County.

The 49-year-old Lonsdale man was feeding mulch into a hopper leading to an auger.

Chief Deputy Dave Bellows says the preliminary investigation indicates the auger became clogged and Young was attempting to clear it when he fell into it.

He died at the scene.
