Family Displaced After Anoka House Fire

ANOKA, Minn. (WCCO) ― A family in Anoka was displaced from their home after it sustained heavy damaged from a fire overnight.

According to authorities, the fire started around 1 a.m. Thursday in the basement of a home on Black Oak Circle.

The two adults and two children inside were able to get out of the house without injury.

The homeowner said the family did have a fire going in the basement fireplace Wednesday night, but investigators haven't ruled whether that played a part in the blaze.

A police officer was injured when he slipped and fell while running up to the house.
