The Mankato bar that served a college student who later died from drinking too much is now closed.
Amanda Jax celebrated her 21st birthday at Sidelines Bar and Grill; she died hours later.
Sidelines closed for good after it finished business Monday morning at 2 a.m. The bar was facing eviction from the shopping mall where it's located.
The Mankato city council was also planning to suspend Sidelines' liquor license.
The bar faced violations for serving underage customers, over serving a customer and letting people leave the bar with alcohol.
According to a lawsuit that lawyers plan to file in Blue Earth County Court, Jax's family is suing the owners of the bar and some of the people who were with Jax on the night she died.
The lawsuit says that Jax consumed in excess of 17 shots of hard liquor at Sidelines. The lawsuit also says that the medical examiners report revealed that her blood alcohol concentration after leaving Sidelines was .4594.
According to the lawyer's representing Jax's family, they plan to file the papers in court on Thursday.
