Nursing Home Watchdog Returns To Albert Lea

ALBERT LEA, Minn. (AP) ― The founder of a nationally known nursing home watchdog group returns to Albert Lea this week to meet with families of those who were allegedly abused at Good Samaritan Society of Albert Lea.

Wes Bledsoe, founder and president of the nonprofit group A Perfect Cause, will host a town hall meeting on Wednesday to discuss the alleged abuse at the nursing home.

He'll also attend the Wednesday arraignments of Brianna Marie Broitzman and Ashton Michelle Larson, both 19, in Freeborn County District Court. They are charged with assault, abuse of a vulnerable adult by a caregiver, abuse of a vulnerable adult with sexual contact and other counts for allegedly abusing residents for several months.

This is Bledsoe's second visit to Albert Lea. His first was after charges were filed against the teens. He said that since that visit, several families have contacted him for guidance.
