Fans Sing Sir Paul's Praises In St. Paul
by Jeanette Trompeter
St. Paul (WCCO) ―
Sir Paul McCartney brought his U.S. tour caravan into St. Paul Wednesday night for a show at the Xcel Energy Center.
There was an atmosphere of celebration around the arena, and you couldn't help but get happy feet as you wandered past the fans.
Sir Paul's concert in St. Paul was a sell-out, and fans both young and not-so-young burst into song outside the X.
Let's face it, most of us knew every word to every song Sir Paul played last night, and everyone WCCO-TV found was a Beatles fan.
"I had Beatle boots when I was 6 years old," one woman said.
"I've been a fan since the night I saw them on 'Ed Sullivan,'" one man said.
There are memories in McCartney's music, and from the looks of things, most of those memories are happy ones.
"It's like the greatest karaoke band in the world right now (with) the greatest set list," one man said. "You've got the Beatles in one galaxy and everyone else over here," he explained, waving his arms emphatically.
McCartney plays in Des Moines, Iowa tonight before heading over to Omaha, Neb. for a show on Sunday.
